Island Drive Remodel Kitchen Reveal
Welcome to Seven Lane Interiors first official blog post! I hope along the way, you will be inspired, enjoy project reveals, and learn a thing or two about design.
In today’s reveal, this beautiful lake house has a special place in my heart because it is actually in my backyard. Not to mention, working on kitchen designs is one of my favorite things! I knew the client(s) prior to their move onto the lake, as I had previously taught at an elementary school with her a few years back. The clients are as kind as they are hardworking, so I knew I wanted to help them create a space where they could unwind, unplug, and relax with their family and friends.
This home had been well loved by its original owners since it was built decades ago. As we all know, time can take its toll on a home...especially in a kitchen. So it was time to tear it out and start from scratch.

The clients and I worked alongside a local cabinet maker to design this beautiful kitchen. We chose a neutral color palette of creams, whites, tans and light gray to capture that classic look. Of course to keep the kitchen from looking “too simple” we added warmth in the wood floors and added subtle textures throughout the space including runner rugs, wooden accents, mixed metals, canisters, and a sprinkle of greenery.
Paint Colors for cabinets, wall and trim
One of my favorite features in this kitchen are the 3 wall sconces that add a modern touch.
We didn’t just want your basic cabinet layout, so we flanked the uppers with counter cabinets to add some interest. This allows the clients to display some of their old treasures with a few new elements added into the mix.
This renovation is not completed yet folks! Stay tuned to Part 2 when we reveal the living room and dining room. It’s going to be a goodie for sure.
